How can you stop period once it begins? The sad news is that you can't stop it once it starts, but you certainly try ways to make it end sooner.

For one depends on your body if birth control will stop your period now what I mean by stopping your period I mean for the time being your on birth control... Some girls don't have one at all while on any types of birth control ...... I was on depo for 6 months and didn't have a period the whole time I was on it and once I got off, I started the end of that month. My periods are more flowy now then before because your body is trying to play catch up with the time it missed.. But as far as stopping your period forever , I don't think that's possible.

I've had prolonged bleeding (spotting) I recently had attempted to have sex with my ex, and sadly he gave me breakthrough bleeding, I am on the Depo shot, and it annoys me that I still have to deal with a painful period. What method is most effective?

@ : I am so sorry I completely understand how you feel, but I am way older than you so I cannot imagine being so young and having to go thru all this bleeding. I have been bleeding everyday for the past 5 years. If I'm lucky I get like a 2 or 3 day break and then it starts all over again. I can't take birth control pills as I have high blood pressure. I was on birth control most of my life and didn't have periods for longs periods of time, I think my body is just trying to catch up and bleed for all those years.

@ : @KEKE There is a rare condition in which women have two uteruses, which would mean two periods. So if you have long periods anyway, then it is completely possible for both periods to go on all month.

Im now 20 and i used to be really heavy on my period whilst growing up and it was so embarrssing so i decided to get this little form of contraception called the implant,it goes in your arm and for the last four years i havent had a period since i have had one in, and whenever i want to start a family i just take it out...it can either make your periods worse or stop them all together like it did for me :)
