I just had my gallbladder removed and the next day was admitted for a bowel obstruction. The obstruction passed and I was released from the hospital. Three weeks later I am vommiting bile with abdominal pain. Could this be another sign of obstruction?

@ : I had my gallbladder removed about 4months ago and i never had a bowl obstruction, but i started getting sick and having pain and bile all over again. Again i have no obstructions. I dont think this new stuff is part of the obstruction, it may be part of the healing process.

@ : I'm sorry to hear about your experience... I don't know what you are going through but my girlfriend has been going through this for about 3 years. I'm in the hospital with her now! She has had her gallbladder out and nothing has changed. But from what the doctor was saying today that the are pills that may slowdown the producing of bile when taken with am antacid like omeprazole. Not sure if this is true but after more than 3 years i hope it works. Something has. I wish all of you the best!!!!

I have tried to quit drinking for 5 or 6 years and whenever I have a bad bender when I stop drinking I throw up bile and can't keep food down. I usually try some ginger tea or chicken soup just to get something in my stomach.

@ : I think a diet shift, either low fat to slow bile production or high fat to use the bile he is curently making. I have found a high protien low sugar/carb diet helps me. Switch to few fats and a lot of carbs for a few days has made me feel ill and i threw up yellow bile again.

@ : 16 is close to the age my problems started. Try a fat free (all fats; trans, saturated, unsaturated) diet for a few days, if you feel a lot better talk to your parents or doctor about looking at your gallbladder.

Hi my name is brenton. I haven't had any surgery's or anything I throw up a yellow liquid sometimes it's dark yellow brown but it has lasted three days straight with severe stomach or abdominal pain. It happens bout once a month or every other month and I can't keep food or water down. I am on methadone maintenance have been for three years and it never happened before I started it. Does anyone know what's up? Please email me if you have any suggestions thanks

@ : Coming from first hand experience, it's most likely the methadone. I had the exact same issue you described. Like clockwork every month. Methadone destroys the lining of your stomach if taken without a proper meal, and proper hydration. It can even cause ulcers in your stomach. Make sure you're eating full meals before taking your doses. And if at all possible (trust me I quit cold turkey so I know the pain) start lowering your dosage even, slowly of course. Dont want to trigger withdrawls Methadone is evil.

Can't explain why but in the pass I smoked synthetic weed . An many times I would throw up bile . I've had friends that smoked it also. They have had the same issue. If you smoke synthetic weed please stop now.. It could be the coperite .

@ : Anyone who willing smokes a synthetic plant deserves to be sick. Idk why anyone would want to pollute their bodies with that garbage.

@ : Weed (not sure about synthetic) can cause you to produce stomach acids. That is what makes most guys hungry and some throw up.

Meds can cause the stomach pain and bile throwing up issues. Mostly pain meds trust me I know . I have dealt with this for 13 years. I drink 8 glasses of water and add ginger to some. I think I'm getting it under control . I'm also on protonix when needed . Good luck
