Many women worry that their vaginas smell like an onion. However, most vagina odor is completely normal. But strong smells mean there is an underlying issue.

I HAVE THE ANSWER!!! Its two-fold. First - (its typically white/Caucasian women that have the "onion" crotch smell) and its because these women have the same type of sweat glads in their groin area that are found in their armpits! Most women don't use deodorant or antiperspirant on their crotch area, so there is no way to mask it unless they use good soap and don't sweat. Its just like not wearing deodorant in the arm pits but its between their legs. Other women (not white) have a smell too, but it doesn't smell like "onion" BO. Secondly - after some of these women go to the bathroom (#2) this can add to the smell and make it even worse especially if they sweat. This info won't change anything - but at least you now have an answer and it might help you understand. Peace & blessing!

@ : For me the smell is not near the sweat glands, but actually on the inside of the labia, and probably vagina. I only get it when I eat foods with a lot of onion, so it's pretty clearly dietary, and unrelated to those subaceous sweat glands. I am just googling it again today to see if there's any way I can still eat my favorite foods (mexican, italian) and not have this embarassing odor :/

@ : Try Chlorophyll pills and greatly increasing your intake of water. And as always, maintain your physical hygiene and you should notice a difference.

To battle the onion smell, I keep a package of sanitary wipes on hand. Cleaning with these not only freshens, but I think, also seems to prevent the smell from coming back for quite sometime. I wipe the vaginal area front to back with one and another I use in my "thigh pits". Hope this helps.

Superior, healthier hygiene for women = the Hand Bidet Sprayer. Washing with water conveniently at the toilet is 10X cleaner than using Toilet Paper. Better than a Bidet and fits in any size bathroom without new plumbing.

I read an article about taking chlorophyll supplements for people with this problem. It greatly reduces body odour and intimate odours generally and it has a whole host of other health-giving properties as well. It is a fantastic antioxidant and research trials have shown that it has been effective in helping to erradicate some forms of cancer.
